Honor Roll Stocks: $SLMU, $CHTL and $GOLF
February 8th, 2010 at 4:37 pm Posted by The DeanHere are The Dean’s Honor Roll Stocks of the Day:
$SLMU
Salamon Group, Inc. (OTC: SLMU.OB), a development stage company, engages in developing, licensing, and/or acquiring technologies and concepts in the field of Alternative Energy Sources. Although $SLMU didn’t see any news today, or in the past month for all that matter, that didn’t stop this penny stock from climbing as much as 133%, before closing 86.67% in the green.
$CHTL
Yesterday, The Dean taught the entire CollegeStock Community about China Tel Group, Inc. (OTC: CHTL.OB), as part of The Dean’s free stock picks of the week. $CHTL closed Friday at $0.83 and made it’s way to $1.25, a potential profit of 50.6% today. Congratulations to all of The Dean’s students who did their homework and started the week off right—in the money.
$GOLF
Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc., (NASDAQ: GOLF) through its subsidiary, Golfsmith International, Inc., operates as a specialty retailer of golf and tennis equipment, apparel, and accessories. Last week, $GOLF announced plans to open four new stores in 2010, in addition to retrofitting several additional stores. This morning, $GOLF topped The Wall Street Journal’s list of Biggest Price Gainers, moving up the charts as much 27%. Although $GOLF’s gain of 16% today may not be a hole in one, volume of only 18,586 shares sure made this small cap run.
And The Dean’s Dunce of the Day:
$TBJK
Previously, this company provided gun care products, accessories, and related sporting equipment for outdoorsman; the general public; and federal, state, county, and local law enforcement. But now, Timberjack Sporting Supplies (OTC: TBJK.OB) “does not have significant operations.” Although $TBJK made The Dean’s Honor Roll on December 21st, this stock took quite a blow today, toppling like dead timber and closing 63.27% in red territory.
