Dear Students

The Dean’s been all over coverage of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week and it’s apparent that the trend this year is going green.

Yesterday afternoon, The New York Times reported that fewer companies showed up to the SEMA Show but NOT fewer people—120,232 tickets were sold for this event.

The article also claimed that “huge wheels and tires, shiny chrome accessories, powerful audio and video installations, and retina-melting auxiliary lighting have been tempered by the new realities of the weak economy.” As a result, “Green and Pony Cars [were] on the Same Stage at SEMA Show.”

Could the trend be $EVII’s friend?

Along with domestic auto companies, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Nissan, Scion, Suzuki and Toyota are at the SEMA Show but $EVII’s WAVE II electric vehicle was in the spotlight.

The Dean thinks that 12% fewer companies and 23% more space at this year’s show means that $EVII was seen by more eyeballs than expected.

And the fact that $EVII’s WAVE II was featured on Autoblog.com could mean that $EVII stood out above the rest of the Progressive Insurance X-Prize contenders.

Happy Trading, The Dean
